Firefox halting

Recently Firefox is been halting, 10 seconds nothing happens. Decent PC, Both Ryzen 8 core machines Windows 11 25H2. Firefox 145.0.1

anyone having similar issues?

If you have any extensions installed, disable them one at a time to see if any of them are causing the problem. Personally I've not had the issue you've described, but extensions are where I would start.

Disabled the two out of the three extensions, just ublock left, still halting

yes I have the same but opera and chrome seem to be fine, all running ublocko which I've re-installled,
especially bad on youtube, where there seem to be many reddit posts V, tried disabling quickfix filters as some posts suggest,
i'm using google for searches but maybe need to try bing.

did wonder if the ff patches around 11Nov were responsible and I will try to back them out ,
i've looked for a smoking gun with ff task manager, threads/stacks with process explorer, but found nothing.

That would happen pretty regularly, but on my phone using the Android version.
The Windows one has it's own issues, back to Edge.

Roll back to 24H; I've needed to that and everything is working.

Try turning hardware acceleration on/off.

At one point that caused me issues on Firefox.

Glad I am not the only having issues with Firefox, I notice it’s when i open the first website it hangs it self. If I am watching YouTube it keeps freezing or starts to stutter. Firefox is up to date and I have even tried a fresh install. Thinking of changing browser, read earlier that Firefox now only had 3% of the market and is a dying browser. Just trying to make mind up on what to switch to.

If it was just the once a hour or just the first website I visit I could live with that. YouTube the last couple of times have been absolutely awful, what I can’t live with.

No real issues running FF on Linux Mint, FF on W11 is not so. I had to disable UBlock origin & Pivacy badger in order to watch any YT videos on that platform.

I cant say i've had any issues, firefox & Ublock on win11 is my default/daily driver... must be something else going on?

I've found that firefox is a bit clunky on google maps and YouTube, I just assume it's google being malicious against anything non chromium.

I installed an extension that changes my user agent to appear to be Chrome which helps.

it is a thing, unless your usomg native android or google app, they nerf the performance.

Sign of the times.

It's doing #12 a lot now, like every couple of hours. I have to reset the browser (in uninstall , reset)

Had the same issue, made me swap to edge for a bit
