Firefox: How to disable Alt+Click download?

The point I was trying to make is... just make sure you let go of alt before you click a link then it will load it normally. For the sake of what is literally less than a seconds delay, is it really that hard to do?

I alt-tab all the time in the same way you do and never have this problem!

I can't reproduce what you describe, unless I'm still holding the Alt key.

No, this isn't it. Again I don't want to be downloadig page X when I click on a link. I just want to visit it.

Which is exactly what does happen, unless you're still holding down Alt

There was no need to be like that :( Tbh, if I just asked a one-line question 'How do I disable Alt-Left Click in Firefox?' rather than explaining in full detail, then it would have been easier.

I do let go of Alt as soon as I can when I Alt-Tab but believe me, it doesn't stop it from happening at least once or twice a day. Sometimes, this is even 2-3 secs after I have just Alt-Tabbed and have let go of Alt. It's not like I make a habit of holding down Alt longer than necessary...

And yes you are right, it's a very hard thing to replicate. It JUST happens.

Which is why I'm sure I can remove this occurence again if I could just unbind the Alt+Left Click shortcut in Firefox.

Be like what? You weren't clear at the start what you were after, and I can't reproduce what you eventually described, what else is there to say.

This might change the shortcut.

Edit: Holy massive edit of your post before last...

You're not alone, don't worry. When I used to play WoW I used to do this all the time haha. I just sort of trained myself to remove my finger from the Alt key though.

Hi, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I always try and Alt+Tab and let go of it as quick as I can, but it still happens once in a while. Maybe it's a keyboard hardware problem with dust or something collecting underneath but I do clean it once a month. Maybe it's a software bug, I dunno.

I've had a look and downloaded that keyconfig extension thing but it fails to install; something about it not being secure :(

So I've decided to give Google Chrome a try instead. At least that doesn't have any potential issues with me Alt+Tabbing all the time!
