Firefox is a peice of ****

:p

After about 4 weeks of Chrome usage, I was missing Firefox so went back.

It didn't last long. The issue I have with Firefox is on my older Qx9650 machine Firefox is simply too CPU resource hungry and stutters and lags during web browsing.

Chrome is much much better.

I'm pretty browser agnostic, but I have to admit the more recent versions of Firefox work great even on my older machines. The only thing I dislike is the pocket and other add ons they've coded in lately, but an extension gets rid of those. Firefox looks nicer and flows nicer than Chrome imho, and it's just as fast if not faster (OS depending). The only flaw FF has in my experience is loading sites like Facebook. After you've scrolled a fair way down the newsfeed the browser chokes and you have to close the tab and load a new one, none of which happens on Safari/Chrome/Opera.

Cyberfox is a nice fast 64 bit port of Firefox for Windows with all the upsides and less of the downsides, which might be worth a look. It's like Waterfox, but gets updated faster (WF is still a version behind Firefox, missing security updates etc). Cyberfox has two releases - one for AMD CPUs and one for Intel CPUs - and even lets you choose between the new Firefox Aurora skin or the older classic skin, while keeping the same new code under the hood. Awesome. :) I just wish they released for Linux and OS X (the two OSs I use most frequently lol).

The 64 bit ports of Firefox should in theory not suffer the lags that the 32 bit version suffers.

Simple websites like this and this lag the hell out of Firefox.

They load and work instantly on Cyberfox AMD x64, I just installed it to test. In fact I'm very impressed with the extra configuration and customisation options in Cyberfox, its like FF on steroids. I'd highly recommend you guys check it out; they do a portable version if you don't want to install fully onto your system. It's really decent!

May check it out, what does it offer over other 64bit FF browsers like Waterfox?

Better to read up on their site mate with respect, as I can't tell you much more than I have (I only found it yesterday). Essentially the biggest advantages over Waterfox are swift security patching (Firefox = v39, Cyberfox = v39, Waterfox = v.38 still) and being compiled and optimised for specific CPUs (Intel or AMD chipsets specifically rather than just x64 generally).

Cyberfox also has an absolute boatload of customisation options for the GUI and engine, it's quite impressive! It's too soon for me to make long term judgments, but I'm tempted to say things like "Firefox the way it should have been done" after a day of playing around with it.

The worst thing I ever did was try Chrome.

I wish you could try Firefox for your self on my PC.

It feels heavy and saturated in comparison to chrome.

This is crazy.

Why cant I just relax, use chrome and surf the web. Instead I am torturing my self trying to use Firefox

It's a only a web browser!

Why are some people including Neowin members slating Firefox? Especially for stability. Mine never crashes. According to the first poster that crashes so often.
