Firefox: no info on mouseover ?

hey guys,

I am not one for messing about with browsers etc and i don't have any addons installed for firefox apart from flash

Anyway, when i mouseover a link etc i don't get a little info popup like i did with IE, showing alternative text and such.

Do i need to download a plugin for this or is there a setting somewhere i need to change ?
