Recently I have started having a strange error when using Firefox on certain sites. Here's a screenshot...

It looks as though certain site elements are being blocked and a red crossed-out "f" appears instead. This also happens on some entire web pages.

Can anyone tell me what exactly is happening here, and how I can stop it?!

Thanks!

If you already have flash installed completely remove it before reinstalling it.

I have had problems lately with flash not updating until I have removed it completely first.

Well I tried updating flash, but I'm still getting the same issue.

I have the following addons installed
Adblock Plus
British English Dictionary
DOM Inspector
Fission
Hide Menubar
IE Tab
Sidebar Bookmark Selector
Smart Middle Click
Stylish
Tab Mix Plus
Text Link
Toolbar Buttons

I also thought it may be an addon issue, but I still get the problem with Adblock Plus, IE Tab, Stylish disabled

In case it's important, I'm running Firefox 3.0

Thanks again

Hmmm it looks as though that is the flashblock logo. Very strange as I have never used this addon! I don't have access to the machine until monday now, but I'll check if running in safe mode has any effect then.

Thanks again for the help!

are you sure you dont have noscript installed as well? cos I get that logo when it first appears as a flash site until I unblock it

Just figured out what the problem was! Custom toolbar buttons has a disable embedded content toggle button, which I must have enabled and then removed from the toolbar, so this addon was blocking flash elements.

Thanks again for the help guys!
