Firefox temporary internet files?

I was looking at a pdf yesterday but now the site it's on is down. Is there a way to retrieve this locally? Or does firefox not keep a permanent copy?

Think you probably lost the file when you shut Firefox down. By all means search your temp files folder for *.pdf.

What site is it? I'll check it to see if it is down for me. If it isn't I'll email you the PDF.

Nah it's definitely down. I'm not sure you'd be able to get to it anyway, I think you need a login to get to that bit (it's a university site).
