Firefox Update Problem

Hi there,

Did a search but didn't find anything relevant.
Basically Firefox updated the other day and now i can enter search strings into the google search box in the top right of the browser window but when I press enter to initiate the search, nothing happens. Its almost as if my enter button is broke (its not before you say it :p )

Furthermore its deleted all my bookmarks including my toolbar bookmarks.

Any ideas what has gone wrong and whether it can be remedied?

Same happened to me, I'd appreciate some help with this, as for the moment I've switched back to IE!
 
exactly same problem here! i dont use the google search bar thing so didnt even notice that...but have now...and it deleted my bookmarks and home page tabs too
 
with your bookmarks gone, it's seem like firefox has crashed and created a new profile. close firefox and now open the windows task manager to make sure there no intances of firefox.exe running. if there is kill it.

now goto start, run and enter this...

%appdata%\mozilla\firefox\Profiles

click ok and here there should be at least 2 folders. one of these will contain your old bookmarks.html - now you've found it, delete the other (parent) folder(s) and next time you open firefox you should have your old profile back.

sorry have no clue about the broken search. it's working fine here.... :p
