My AMD Firepro v4900 card has just arrived and the first thing i see is a huge HP logo on the box
I open the box and am greeted by 'warranty void if not used on HP systems' in huge letters and a HP driver disk
I got the card for my work build and i did not realise i had bought the HP card. i don't really want to send it back (£40 instead of £130), does the HP version differ from AMD's?
Could I just use this in my non-HP build downloading drivers from AMD?

If you can't get even half of your money back your better off keeping it.

I don't see why it shouldn't work in a non-HP system, it will only be a driver issue.

I don't understand your mention of £40 vs £130. Why wouldn't you get a full refund?

If you just bought it, and it's not the card you thought it was, just return it under the Distance Selling Regulations (assuming it wasn't bought on an auction site or similar second hand place).

You have 7 working days to notify the seller you intend to return it, starting the day after you received it.

I think the OP says it cost him £40 instead of £130, thus the reluctance to return it? :)

yeah sorry about the confusion
It was on offer for £40 and I don't really want to spend over £130 on the same hardware having returned a perfectly suitable card for a third of the price
I was wanting to know if I would come up against any issues with either AMD's drivers on the HP card or the HP drivers on my non-HP system?
if it will work the same ill take the warranty loss for £90
