Yes, Beta 8 is the fast driver, seems to improve benchmark scores by around 5%, 20% more performance in crossfire setups and upto 40% boost in some games.
Bear in mind I ran on Windows 7 too, supposedly Windows 8.1 improves firestrike scores, just simply not had the time to do more testing.
Was the run done on an Asus 290 with GPU tweak.
Does FS take advantage of ram speed/timings? If so, with which priority?

I don't know if this really helps but I am using a Corsair 1200i for my 290X entry.
I am not an expert on PSUs but I think unless you are going to put large amounts of volts through your cards an 850w PSU should be fine.
Second bench with my new 7990 @ stock clocks.
2700K @4.9ghz
7990 @stock 1000/1500
6713 with AMD Radeon HD 7990(2x) and Intel Core i7-2700K Processor
