Really exciting times!! How do you think the 6700xt will hold up? 3070 performance give or take 12gb Vram £430?I did see that one coming.
There are other traditional NVidia benches where they are going to get blitzed by big Navi and Ryzen 5XXX using PCI-E 4.0

This is what I love about Kaap, you can never say he is biased one way or the other.I don't really know much about the 6700XT. If it is like the 6800 and 6800XT they really seen to fly on things that have very high fps where the PCI-E 4.0 and SAM work well.
PCI-E 4.0 seems to give a nice boost to my 3090s but I think the Navi cards will do the same things even better using SAM as well.
If I run my best 3090 in a 10980XE system using PCI-E 3.0 and my worst 3090 in a 3950X system using PCI-E 4.0 on the Heaven 4 bench the latter scores about 500 points more despite being the poorer silicon.
I am definitely getting a 6900XT but the thing to remember about Navi is they don't do Ray Tracing as well as Ampere but for me that is not a problem.
Going forward I would rather have a 12gb card rather than a 8gb one as the latter is getting very close to being maxed out in games and who knows where we will be in a couple of years, better RT on the 3070 is not much use if it is limited by memory on future games.
Having said all that I think the 3070 and 6700XT will both be good cards but they may need to be used slightly differently using their own appropriate settings.
