Hi,
I have a pc connected to the internet through a BT router and I also have a laptop conected to the same router via a wireless connection. I wanted to also share files between the Laptop and the PC. I set up a small network using Win XP and it works ok, however I cannot get the two to 'see' each other across the network if either one has its firewall running (Kerio (free eddition)).

I cannot seem to configure the FW on either to be able to allow a connection while the FW is running.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Thx.

also make sure you haven't ticked "wireless isolation" on the bt router.

the kerios firewall, as tolien mentions, should be aware of a "home network" or "trusted network" (usually a subnet mask or ip address range) so that your LAN computers can communicate without the firewall blocking anything.

There should be a "trusted zone" option in Kerio that'll let you add the machine's IP.

Thanks for the reply. Yes there is a 'Trusted Area' option, in which I have entred the IP of the opposite machine on both computers. It doesn't seem to make a blind bit of difference.
