Evening Everyone,

Sorry if this is a dumb question.
But Im currently constructing the interior of a small office for my business, obviously I need to get the network side of things wired in etc. The business is pretty much cloud based (so it is unlikely there will be any internal server requirements at this stage, nor requirements for VPN), it will merely be fore internal access (both wired and wireless).

Do I therefore require a hardware firewall inbetween the modem and the 24 port switch? Or is a firewall more for the protection of remote servers access etc?

One other thing maybe worth mentioning, is I eventually plan to have remote access CCTV on site (probably a swann type system or something)
 
A DrayTek is probably a good shout. You'll need something to share out the incoming connection and it gives you some flexibility in terms of failover connections, VLANs for things like guest Wi-Fi for the future, the ability to do site-to-site VPNs to Azure or AWS if you want, and the stability that a business needs. It's inexpensive and there are no recurring fees. The Vigor 2860 will do nicely.
 
So the DrayTek is a router right, so rather than going full board with a dedicated firewall, a Firewall Router will be plenty?

I assume I then just connect a 24 port (or how ever many) to the Router to split out connections?
 
The DrayTek routers have a firewall built in, it's not going to rival a dedicated Cisco ASA or something and it's not a UTM appliance, but it will be more than good enough for you.
 
Cisco routers don't run DD-WRT, Belkin/Linksys ones do. In terms of hardware quality, support, VLANs etc. the DrayTek is a much better product.
