Fireworks have always made me jump ever since i can remember, now i am 28 it is still the same. I was walking home an hour ago and i hear boom boom. This literally makea me have a mini panic attack, especially the notably louder bangs. Anyone else the same?

I don't like loud noises much at all these days. It's okay if you've got some control over the noise (be it a video game or whatever).

You aren’t by any chance on the autism spectrum are you?

The OP is only 28, so it will be because he's a millennial :p Anyway, it's impending Hallowe'en and Guy Fawkes, so fireworks will be going off on random nights over the next 2-3 weeks, so will have to get used to it. Then there's NYE to look forwards too :)

What about thunder and lightning?

Since this is a computing forum, then what about computer games? Especially first-person shooters, where you'll be expecting gunshots and bombs going off.

If this post is genuine though, they perhaps wear ear plugs or ear muffs while you're outside? Stick some tunes on?

Similar issue here in that I have a colleague who is so loud that her voice grates on me. This is despite the fact that she sits further away from me in the room than any other colleague. So if I get a headache from this, I stick some noice-cancelling headphones on. Other colleagues have done the same, or made their excuses and hot-desk somewhere else etc.

Gun shots from games aren’t as loud as fireworks and you know they will be coming anyway. This time of year i have always just got on with it even though its horrible. I just wondered if anyone else had a similar experience thsts all.

Dwali tonight and my flat on the 11th floor has had a great view of fireworks over London. Any direction I look they are going off. It's been great!!
