Fireworks

My city must have an anti-chav shield because I live in terrace housing and don't suffer from firework problems.

whereabouts? I've lived near Nottingham, Birmingham and now live in Staffordshire and I've had it in all three places (near Nottingham was probably the worst of the three though).

If your dog is fitting you should take him to the vet. Don't vets give out diazepam and phenobarbital exactly for this kind of situation?

We just got given a crappy fireworks CD thats done **** all!

Not a nice thing to see! He seems to have calmed down a little but still pretty bad, 1-2 fits a year. :\

I live in Derby and get it real bad as I live next to a park, its the place all the ****** go too to cause havoc!!!

I know I know we all used to do it right? I used to buy these fireworks called Hercules Bangers!

Man they were loud and dangerous!!!

Big bang?? Sounded pants to me. :p

I remember a few years ago I managed to get hold of some (ok, a lot!) fireworks that weren't rockets, more like roman candles except they made 2 rather loud bangs! Oh, what fun they were. :D

bad video i guess. it's rated 9/10 for noise on the site the same as the King Cobras

So probably the best option is simply making fireworks whos sole purpose is to go BANG illegal.

I was under the impression that this was already the case? I remember maybe 5-7 years ago my dad buying some cheapish fireworks which were maybe £3-4 each. Basically a cylinder with a stick like a rocket, once in the air there was a brief flash followed by a stupidly loud boom. No pretty lights or anything else. The guy at the shop said they wouldn't be able to sell them next year as they would be illegal, although I guess that could have been for excessive noise levels perhaps?

I thought they were called air mines, but google isn't finding much.

Air bombs?

They were a cylinder thing like 1 inch wide you stuck in the ground. Fired a white ball up and then a giant bang that shook stuff around you? They were cheap as well lol.

Ah yes that's the one! :D

Wikipedia said:
Single tube airbombs were banned in Britain in 2004, because they are classed as a cheap, nuisance firework.
That was what I thought, they're already banned

I'm completely with philjohn on this. Living in an urban, moderately-densely populated area approaching that 'one night' is an absolute nightmare. Last year it was like Beirut for about 3 weeks, culminating in some truly *stupid* moves by local idiots.
I agree, I just hope the 5th isn't Giro day.

It's one night a year, I expect you'll want to ban speakers next because they make a loud noise?

Well it's not one night a year is it. Fireworks around here started Mid September and I suspect they wont stop until the start of December, and then we will have New Years.

Ban fireworks for public sale. Allow organised displays only. Why anyone gets a thrill letting off a firework in their own back yard is bizarre when you can go to an organised display run by professionals.

Good job everyone isn't as miserable as you eh

Well that time of year is approaching.

My cousin is hosting it this year but I want to take just one firework of my own. A biiiig rocket.

I want the biggest bang for buck. Not bothered about fancy colours etc, just a big **** off bang :D

Anyone have any recommendations of where to buy? Even better which firework I should get?

Cheers

If you can buy a "Earth War" rocket which is a display fire work you will have a very big bang indeed.

I have 2 sitting in my bed room, if you live near me you can have them if you come and collect :)
