Having some issues with my firmware upgrade on my Canon D60.

Currently it has d30 firmware (dont know why) and im trying to put the d60 1.0.4 firmware on it but it just fails, probably due to the d30 firmware being on there in the first place.

Anyone have any suggestions before i contact canon?

Doesn't sound right at all. I've just checked my D60 and the serial number underneath is a 10 or so digit number, no letters and only the one leading zero.

I'm wondering if you've managed to get an engineering sample / pre-release demo model or something.

Still waiting to hear back from Canon, i hope i don't get in to any trouble if this is an engineering sample

Well i got it from a guy on another forum but i don't know how he got hold of it.

Would they accept a paypal receipt as proof of purchase?

Canon have a blue room at the uk headoffice (WOODHATCH) where all the kit comes to be tested in ES versions, camera, to printer to photocopier for CBS and soem other side i forget now. It be very unlikely you have an ES as nothing is allowed out of the blue room, and all ES are kept in some other locked up room.

Well something clearly isn't quite right with this :/

Might just have to bite the bullet and do it, the camera is so unstable on the D30 firmware :(
