First 5k run

"hitting the wall"

What's that? :p

I hit the wall today.
I'd finished the half marathon and then I could hardly move to get back to the car.
It was as though something was telling me you can't go any further.

Anyway, if you can run 2 mile you can easily take your time and run 3 mile.

Races are awesome, you'll find you have about 30-40% more energy just because of the rush of a race, people cheering etc. Especially over a 5k.

What I used to do is plot out a 5-6km run. And run and if I had to walk I walked, just to make the distance. I did this only once a week on Sunday mornings (lazy), and after 3-4 weeks I could jog the whole lot.

At the moment I'm plotting 10-11km runs and doing the same. Trying to get below 55mins (yes I'm crap at running!)
