Some motherboards do. My DFI board is configured by default to slow the CPU fan down if the CPU temperature is below 50c and I forgot to disable it after a CMOS reset recently so the Freezer 64 Pro fan leaked onto the motherboard. The fan leaking is annoying as it's often virtually inaudible when controlled by the motherboard. 
As for Next Sensor, you might want to give some information to the author about that problem (email him) and he'll help you fix it or even release a new version with fixes just for you.
