As far as i can see and hear , there is power in the unit but nothing is showing on the screen. Yes it is on the right channel etc , connected via Dvi.

The Mobo disc is in the drive, but nothing.

Help!

Couple of obvious questions, is the card placed in the slot correctly and any power cables that the gpu requires connected firmly.
Again the same goes for the motherboard, ie the 4 or 8 pin for cpu power connected, also try CMOS reset.

DVI cable in working order.

Also whats your specs.

Its booted now, just gone some minor things in the bios.

I have now put the Vista disc in, but its not doing anything , just stuck on a screen with a background on. The mouse works though!

Sorted

back in a bit if there is any probs!

How long has it been on that screen, In the past I have installed Vista it has hanged on that screen for a few minutes - feels like an eternity though :o

Glad the mouse works!! :eek::p

Didn't catch the error message , ffs.

Check to see if your disc is not marked or damaged, is this OEM or Retail disc.
What memory are you running, you might need to change the voltage and timmings, this is usualy stamped on the side of the memory modules.

OEM.

Erm,
# Corsair 4GB Kit (2x2GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 XMS2 Memory Non-ECC Unbuffered CL5(5-5-5-18) Heat Spreader Lifetime Warranty

Im in the Bios now, it hasn't registered anything in the Sata parts, Hdd etc.

Same memory as me, you wont need to change anything in the BIOS.
Try removing one stick and have another go, if that fails it could be faulty CD/DVD drive or a dirty/damaged Windows disc.

The code by the looks of things from a Google search is ERROR_INVALID_DATA.

My Hdd are not showing in the Bios,so maybe it isn't working because there is no space to install?

Usualy hit delete during the first part of boot were it shows your memory and cpu speed.

When installing I only connect the hard drive I want to install Windows on, stops me putting the operating on the wrong drive

Ah good idea, think ill take the samsung out.

Right, i cant get into the CMOS. Just keep getting BIOS.

They are basicaly one of the same, BIOS you could say is the front end, resetting the CMOS resets the BIOS.

RIght I have got the hard drive sorted, i had the sata in a Raid port. So thats all ok now, hopefully vista will work now.

Hopefully that should do the trick, once Vista is installed you can add the second hard drive, if the drive is new then you will need to use disc management in Admin tools to format the drive.
