First boot up problems

Hi Guys

Tried to boot the new build up for the first time but only the CPU cooler and Motherboard Orange LED came on, the case fans and cpu cooler fans stopped spinning after a second (one of the GPU fans twitched for a brief moment too), turned it off after 20secs or so.

Any ideas what to do next?

Took the whole motherboard out to safetly remove the CPU, thought it looked alright at first but then properly inspected it and all the pins seem slightly bent in one direction (makes it seem fine to the naked eye). Not sure how they got bent during the install since it dropped into place nicely and the only force was applied by the socket lever. Should have checked more closely on arrival to see if they were fine just to be sure

Doubt I have steady enough hands to be able to work with the Pins, is there a way to know it's definitely the Mobo and not the CPU arriving dead? (don't have any spare parts on hand)

Quick update

RMA'd the board and was sent a replacement by OcUK, rebuilt the PC today and it's powered on successfully (hooray), Couple more questions:

1. A concern is that in the initial bootup bios it says the fans are spinning at 0 RPM, even though all seem to be working, anyone know a way to solve this or will it fix itself after installing windows/motherboard CD etc?

2. Wondering if there's any way to test that the AIO CPU cooler is working properly? The fans attached to the radiator are spinning but I'm just looking for a way to check on the pump etc

Checked the Bios, the CPU and CPU opt fan readings are both 0 RPM, same with the 3 system fan entries

From the Fan hub there are 2 columns of 5 fan connections, then an 11th connection at the bottom, the 11th connection feeds into the molex adaptor along with a cable from the LED hub (I guess both for power?) Other than that the only spare connection seems to be the 4pin that comes on the end of the PSU molex cable that I have plugged into the random Sys Fan header

Is the 4pin connector supposed to connect to the board in the way I've done it? It currently only has 3pins connected (one of the Sys_fan header pins is at the side and one of the 4pin holes is at the other side, it wouldn't connect with all 4 because the plastic notches at the bottom block each other).

The Antec Kuhler is connected to both the CPU fan header and the OPT fan header, one connection is from the fans, one is from the pump. Haven't installed the software CD for it, if that could be what's causing it to read 0?

Is it safe to carry on installing drivers and then move on to the software CDs as it is?

Honestly can't see any 4pin headers except the Sys_Fan ones, the board is a gigabyte gaming 7 if that helps. The PC still boots up without the 4pin being plugged in, just checked the BIOS with it unplugged and it still reads 0 RPMs for all system fans and both CPU readings

try moving the fan connector to the other right hand one, thats a four pin

I don't think your plugged in properly as it is,it lookslike your only connected to a 3 pin header which will work but will run full speed all the time

latest motherboard bios might also help with rpm detection

There are 4 pins on both, but the little notch under the adapter (after the 3rd pin hole) clashes with the plastic notches of the Sys_Fan headers (in the centre below the pins) so it can't fit into all 4

Currently all the Sys_Fan pins are now empty on the board, the Antec Kuhler fans are going to the CPU fan header and the Pump is going to the CPU_OPT header

Realised the screws I used to mount the Antec Kuhler are too long. There were 16 included that were all the same size, so I used 8 to connect the fans to the Radiator and then the other 8 to connect the Radiator to the case, these all went into the actual fins. Is the Cooler broken if the screws penetrate the fins of the Radiator?
