First boot up problems

Realised the screws I used to mount the Antec Kuhler are too long. There were 16 included that were all the same size, so I used 8 to connect the fans to the Radiator and then the other 8 to connect the Radiator to the case, these all went into the actual fins. Is the Cooler broken if the screws penetrate the fins of the Radiator?

bending the fins are alright aslong as you don't puncture the core/tubes running inside

it would leak if you did that

aint you supposed to go through the fan mounting holes and mount both fan/radiator in one?

I mounted the Fans below the Radiator, there was the option to mount them above or below (or both if there was room in the case and I had 4 fans). It would have been fine if I had put them above since the other screws wouldn't have even been needed :\

Now there are screws in the fins, penetrating around the same height of a fan. Will it end up leaking or is it best to leave the screws where they are now?

I don't think it will leak it would leak already

leave them as they are if you want

you want to take your time and read the instructions,if you get stuck ask here first if you get stuck on anything

Do broken fins make any difference on the radiators? Not sure if they are just there to disperse the heat from the little pipes running between the rows of fins, or do they also include any water or important connections?

D'yu think it could help explain the 0 RPM speeds at all?

no it wont affect the rpm

fins help dissipate the heat, cooler air passing over them cools the pipes inside, bending a few of them wont hurt

Is it a possibilty that any of them have snapped, and would that much more of a problem than just bent ones? I've had a look and the screws seem to go fully through the Radiator fins and pretty much meet the screws that the fans are attached to the Radiator with. Difficult to tell if they are just bent or worse since they have screws going straight through :s

nahh your alright, see the thicker black pipes in the centre? between each row of fins, they carry the water

You should have had eight small screws that are used to hold the rad to the top of the case.

Ah that's a slight relief, now just need to figure out what's causing the 0 rpm readings and *fingers crossed* it could be ready to use

Edit: re-checked the box for any smaller screws + found a review on google with pictures of the 16 large screws (two bags of 8) too but still can't see any smaller ones

That really odd as it means you could never have just a pair of fans and have them underneath blowing up through the rad and out the top.
