I done everything to the book on the build.

When finally powering on connected to a tv via hdmi, the gigabyte bios splash screen came up, then it when to a post error of some kind, I wish i had of remembered exactly what is said... i was in the middle of reading it when i noticed "continuing with system resume" or something along those lines.

Then the tv went back to saying that it does not detect any hdmi input.

Everytime i started up after this nothing would happen, the fans would spin and the GPU would turn on, also the phase LED lights on the MoBo would turn on then off after a sort while...

I even took the MoBo out of the case and set it on the box with the GPU and RAM and connected it again... nothing happened.

Any ideas folks? I feel discouraged.. starting to wish i had of bought a prebuilt system.

Please help..

I never even got to that part.. no windows is installed on it. Some screen came up for a couple of seconds then thats it. The post will not load up anymore..

So can you get into the BIOS?

Have you got both 6pin power leads into the GTX570? and the motherboard has both a 24pin ATX and 4/8pin ATXX power cable in it?

Woah wait a minute. I connected it to the MoBo via hdmi since you reminded me of it.Now it comes up with "Loading operating system... DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER." Faulty gpu? I dont have a clue now

See the gtx 570 its got an 8pin connecter and a 6 pin... this is gonna sound nooby but do i use an 8 pin and a 6 pin or just two 6 pin connecters

With the HDMI lead plugged into the GTX570, can you get into the BIOS or not? can you install windows?

You attach what ever the connectors are there, they dont put the connectors on just for show.

with the hdmi pluged into the GTX570 nothing comes up any more... just the splash screen and this "post error.." then OFF - this happened the first time nothing happens anymore when connected via the GTX570

im gonna reconnect the optical drive and the hdd now and try and boot windows via the disk using just the mobo's video output

The lack of an operating system will probably have something to do with the lack of display output from the GTX570.

Connect it all up and install windows.

Wait.. when i said the splash screen came up... i mean it happened once with the gtx570 and all the drives plugged in, using the video output from the gtx... now im bench testing it using the MoBos output.. this is the only time i can get anything to happen.

So did you have all the correct power leads plugged in?

With the GTX570 in, try one stick of RAM at a time in the furthest slot from the CPu and then moving it closer one at a time.

So your mobo has onboard graphics, and everything is working fine from there you say?

So the GPU is the fault. But I think stulid makes a good point. Check to see if the GPU is fitted correctly (it should require a little force, not excessive, and it should *click* in, if that is the right word. You will know when it is in correctly, as it will run parallel to the Mobo perfectly.

The Lepar is a modular PSU, right? Check you have the right cables attached where you need them to be, and get rid of ones you don't need (put them in the box) so you can be sure you are using the right number (and right type) of power connector leads.

If it is, then check all the power connectors are correct. I don't have a 570 myself, but my 560 ti requires two power connectors if I remember correctly.

If you have an alternative system to test your GPU in (maybe a friends/family members) this could then ultimately rule out if the 570 is the fault (as in it is faulty) or if it is something else.

Yeah ive got another gpu i can use i bought recently its got a hdmi in it i think. Im installing windows now, i access the bios and changed boot priority to the cd rom.

Yeah i got rid of all the cables i dont need just the ones im using got connected.

Im gonna follow all your advice after I get windows installed... hopefully no problems.

Maybe once I get the drivers loaded everything will work?

The thing that bugs me is why would it start just once then go to post error with the gtx570 and not start again thereafter?

Time will tell..
