Hey guys.

Basically I have been looking at buying a new PC for a few months now and I have been attracted towards.

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-176-OE&tool=3

The thing is though I wont be able to purchase this for another month or two (Around Christmas) I was thinking about possibly trying my first ever PC build but only if I can see a significant advantage when it comes to price as I would really be starting from scratch with little clue what to do.

The PC is almost purely for gaming and possibly some video editing.

My budget is around £900-1200. Any help would be appreciated.

(The system above would come with a GTX 580, No SSD and Overclock selected)

You best off buying your own, you can have more choice over your parts and possibly get them cheaper.

Ill run off and try and spec something now.

For £1050 you could build the system I have (see my signature) or for a little more add the gtx580 and not worry about upgrading for a good while yet!

What Ive specced is £100 cheaper, but I have used most of the same parts and just changed the GPU, mobo and RAM. I havent used any offers within the spec though, so you could get cheaper if you'd like.
Can change price again with a different case, cooling, power supply, etc...

Add Windows 7 onto that and its about 100 quid I am saving + 2 free games. Quite a good deal. Also meant to ask in the OP would it be worth it to wait 3-4 months to see if prices drop or new hardware comes out?

100% wait. Ati are releasing the 7000 series soon, along with BD for Intel competition. Theres also going to be Intel SB-E and Ivybridge (if you wait till after xmas) which could also push down prices.

One part of me wants to wait, but the other part thinks arghh Battlefield 3 is out in less than 2 months along with Skyrim. It's going to be a touch choice.
