First build questions

Will be putting together my first build this weekend and I would be grateful for advice on the following:

1 - should I do a test boot before assembling everything in the case?

2 - should I apply (or re-apply) thermal paste on my heatsink before installing or should I wait and see temps?

3 - if I have more fans than I can attach to the fan controller, am I better off attaching the remainder to the motherboard or the power supply?

1) I have never done, take your time and double check everything you will be ok. (don't forget the 4 or 8 pin for cpu power & CMOS rest)

2) What cpu cooler are using? if the paste is pre-applied then I would leave as is.

3) I attach them to the FPC to allow me to manually adjust.

I will be buying a Xigmatek Dark Knight SD-1283 Night Hawk Edition CPU Cooler.

I think my fan controller only allows 3 fans and I will have 5.

Looks like you get a pouch with some Paste in I would look at getting some extra stuff, like AS5.

No probs, I use some of the splitters on my spare pc
