Hi People.
I have just built my first PC and have need a bit of help.

Here's the problem: Upon start up, nothing displays on the screen, the screen is not detecting any input. I have made sure everything is plugged in correctly and all the fans are spinning, including the one of the GFX card. There are no beeps on startup and I know the speaker is working as I took out the GFX card just to test, and it beeped.

So far I have tried:
-Changing the GFX card
-Using the second PCI slot
-Changing the keyboard
-Changing the monitor
-changing the hdd to another sata connection.

Other Info:
Don't think the keyboard is getting any power as when I press caps no light come on on the keyboard.
Half of the 8 pin connector is covered by a piece of plastic that I don't think is meant to be removed.

Spec:
- Asus P6T
- Intel Core i7 920 Retail
- Nvidia 8800GTX
- 6gb Corsair XMS3 1600mhz
- Corsair HX 750w
- Samsung 1TB F3 Spinpoint
- Coolermaster HAF 922

If you can remove the other half of the plastic so you use all 8 pins, should help with overclocking etc.

Are the memory modules in the correct slots, I did this on my i7 build.

If you have not done so already try doing a CMOS reset.

Always useful to have a pic of your setup as this could show up any obvious wrong or missing connections.
Also useful to remove anything no essential and even build outside the case and try starting up, so only have mb, graphics, cpu/heatsink and one memory stick in and power only to the motherboard and graphics and try booting

I recently had pretty much the same problem, no beeps and nothing on screen and i couldnt figure out what was wrong at all. In the end i took the mb out of the case, and took everything off it including processor and then put it all back together carefully and it worked fine. Use the 8 pin connection though, my mb also had a piece of plastic covering 4 pins but just take it out and use an 8 pin connector.

Im currently having the same problem in my m-itx build here. Everything spins up but no lights on the keyboard and not output to screen :(

As others have said, maybe try using the 8pin ATX cable rather than the 4 pin one if you can. Try all the usual things like removing everything apart from the very basics, try with just 1 stick of ram in etc.

Good luck getting it working, I'll be watching for ideas to help me too haha

Usually taking apart and putting back together can do it with min components.

So try just cpu, cooler, 1 stick Ram, graphics, one hdd.

Then try the other stick of ram and see if it works.

Then if still not working build it up with error messages, eg just cpu, then just cpu + ram etc etc and see if it gives a false error or something?

Then if all parts work in someone else's set-up sounds like a bad board to be honest.

Thanks for all of your replys.
Quick update: Got in tonight and thought I would have one quick look at it. The first thing I did was unplugged one of the RAM modules from the slots and... IT LIVES!!! Just about to install Win 7 and will see how that goes. Thanks again. :)

Update 2: Win 7 installed fine, no problems. Very quick install. Still cant get over how quick the i7 is on default clock speed, OC'ing it will turn it into a beast! :P

congrats getting it working! :) Ive tried changing RAM and different slots but no use for me. Also tried clearing CMOS using the jumper last night but didnt help at all :( Have emailed the place I bought the board, only thing I can think of now is faulty mobo
