Hey!
My current PC is like 6 years old, about time to replace it :D
The budget is about 1200-1300. I already have semi-decent monitor (Dell ST2410), Windows7 64, mouse and keyboard.

So here's the spec I'm looking at.

Tell me what you think, any suggestions, etc ;)

Cheers!

wot do you use your pc for mainly m8?
the guys will build you a better machine to your needs.

im on the same boat, im just about to get a new rig and
i first posted an intel setup. but since i only use my pc
for gaming a few ppl showed me AMD hardware.

ive around the same budget but im gonna get a new case and monitor.

the AMD has the rep of "more bang for buck"
or maybe you only want intel.:)

im sure the experienced guys will sort you out tho.

good luck m8 :)

change the psu for a HX or AX model, which are modular.

do you want sli? that particular psu only has two pcie connectors.

if you don't want sli, then keep it.

Also if you are planning on getting the H50, id really consider getting the H70 instead its much better.

Or alternatively a Noctua DH14.

Yeah if your going sli in the future you need an 850+ or 1000+ if your overclocking, but if your not going sli in the future go with 650HX (Modular) meaning easier cable management.

to fund the better psu, cooler and cpu you could (and should) drop the 480 back to a 470 then when you need to you could add another in SLI (make sure the psu is 850W+)
Edit: I say this as the 470 is much better value for money than the 480

if you can i would highly reccomend changing the make of the GPU from ocuk to somthing like asus or MSI these are around the same price but offer better cooling, i also agree with bifday2k the h70 is a massive improvment to the h50 and is allot more realiable, what res moniter do you have at the mo and can you downgrade to a 470 with better cooling and a faster clock?

The Corsair 700D & 800D are more watercooling cases than air. I would spend the money on a better air cooled case
such as the corsair 600T

Or the coolmaster HAF

Or Lian Li

Or my favourite the silverstone which is abit more

If you go for the H50 get an extra fan for the push/pull set up...so you might aswell go for the H70.

EDIT: or this case tht comes in white blk or red....lots of ppl are excited about this case

yeah this.

ive watched a few video reviews and its looking really nice.
im going for it also.
this case could do for an even further future build or even 2.
not that others wont, im just saying.
also you have to look at it everyday, so if its your taste also
you may aswell go for a bit of creativity;)

Thanks for replies!

Right, here's what I've got now

The only thing I'm not too sure about is the case. I wanted to go for CM-690 first, but they're out of stock =/

Yeah, I've also watched some reviews, apparently the H70 cooler doesn't fit in that case =/

Guess I'll go for HAF X.

EDIT: I might wanna add another GTX470 later, will that PSU be enough?

wow i was under the impression that a "Full tower"
with "Dual radiator support" and seeing pictures of it
with a "Noctua NH-U12P SE2 Dual Fan" could hold anything.
isnt that 1 of the biggest cpu fans around?

guess i was wrong

I don't know, but here, in one of the comments, the guy who did the review says that H70 doesn't fit. It's different from Noctua though, the radiator is attached to the rear exhaust.

Hopefully it fits fine in HAF X
