Hi everyone, I'm relatively new to the forums. I've been looking to build my own PC for some time, and I've now got some funds to do it! I'm looking to build a gaming pc for around £900-£1000 without monitor, speakers, keyboard or mouse. I've trawled through the components offered at OCUK and looked at reviews and stuff and this is what I've come up with. I thought I would check before buying any of it whether I've made any silly mistakes or whether there are better components for my budget.

I think 650W is enough for this spec and I don't expect to add another graphics card. Let me know what you think!

I have included two 460's in sli which are also overclocked, and are more powerful than a 580, and the overclocking bit means they last a little longer till your next upgrade and you say you aren't going to add another card down the line. I have got you a cheap but excellent case with a fan controller thus instead of a 64gb I have upgraded it to a 128gb. I have changed your motherboard to a z68 cause it does ssd caching.

**Oh yeah there's a 1tb hard drive and win 7 hp bundle for £113 and it doesn't show but it is included in the final price.

Best bang for buck I could do so give it a check over with stulid who should comment on this soon.

Kev.

Swap the SSD for the more trouble free Crucial M4, The two extra fans are not needed for that case, its good out of the box with three/four fans fitted as standard.

You really need 1600MHz RAM with CL9 timings also.

Nice motherboard you picked too:)

Thanks for the quick replies! As you probably guessed, my plan is to use the SSD for the OS (and maybe for the odd game). Is the 128GB M4 the best value for the capacity?

The PSU doesn't look like it's modular, I'd prefer a modular PSU if possible. While I was researching PSUs, the Corsair TX range cropped up. Would the 750W one be good?

Thanks for all the help, I appreciate it. I've got another query though. I know I said that I wasn't expecting to add another graphics card, but what about getting the GTX 560 card I specified originally with a 750W PSU (instead of 650W) to allow for the opportunity of adding a second graphics card in the future? Would this be a better way to build my pc, or is it more of a preference thing?
