Hi guys,
I've recently rediscovered PC gaming and as such went and bought a pre-built system (from a manufacturer who I won't name). I had problems with it almost instantly (what looked to be poor build quality, drivers etc no installed properly, constant random rebooting) so I sent it back to the manufacturer for a full refund. The experience has sort of shaken my confidence in pre-built systems so I guess the only way to be sure of quality control is to build it yourself!

Anyway, I've spec'd a system based on forum posts that I've read and roughly on the computer that had to be returned.

Looks very similar to my build (see seperate thead) - let me know how it goes! Are you planning on pushing the overclock on the bundle any further?

looks pretty good. i'd suggest you go for a Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB hard drive instead of the WD Blue one you've specced. it's only a few quid extra and gives you twice the storage. (rule of buying hard drives - buy one twice as big as you think you need!)

also, you could save a decent chunk of money by buying mobo, CPU and RAM seperately. the 2500k is so good that you really have no need to get an overclocked one right now. and if you absolutely must overclock it, you can just do it yourself rather than paying someone to do it for you - there are loads of tutorials and sandy bridge CPUs are really noob-friendly to overclock.

personally i would go for the intel home bundle for £278 and get 8GB of RAM seperately. you'd save £40

Thanks guys. Advice regarding buying components seperately is duly noted and I will look into doing this and getting a bigger HDD - will probably learn more overclocking it myself anyway!

Psamiad I might do as SheepBeast suggests and go for one thats not overclocked. Then I can start to push it up slowly myself. I doubt I would take it too much further past 4.5k but I've heard that people can get 5k on stock cooling (?) so maybe it will be worth a look in future.

Had a look at a review of the Shinobi case and I think you may have to add a 120mm fan in for the front panel.

There's also a Win7+HDD bundle under Software Bundles you may care to take a look at.
