Got a Coolermater Elite 430 and i'm trying to screw in the stand offs, but no matter which hole i try they wont screw right the way in. At least 2 threads are left sticking out.

is it supposed to be like this?

Didn't come with any...

Problem solved actually, there's a little attachment with a phillips screwdriver head one end and a stand off shaped bit the other to help screw them in.

I don't have standoffs on mine which is possibly risky though I'm not sure what there for, there are raise mounds where the screws go in though so they might do the same also I have five standoffs and six holes so???

I have seen this before, just screw the motherboard straight down.

Thats what I've done, I wasn't sure whether the standoff where made of something less conductive to insulate the motherboard or more conductive to earth it, or if it's just for increased airflow/clearance under it.

Its to raise the board of the back so the solder joints/components don't short out against the metal.

Another spot of bother now, the fan cable for the case is too short to reach the socket on the motherboard... They've given me another adapter type thing with two PSU connectors on it. Do i plug both these in or just one?

Strange that they included standoffs with a case that doesn't need them.

If you look carefully, there are usually a couple of dozen holes all for different mounting designs. The only raised parts are where the standoffs are common. The extra studs are for say E-ATX or similar. ATX is 9 or so mounts, sometimes these vary in location.

If its the ones I am thinking of you just plug in one, the other is so you don't lose the use of the molex.

Ahh ok, noticed that my GPU has a 3pin connector on it aswell as the 6 pin power connector.

Should i plug the fan into that?

I also have the coolermaster 430 and found the standoffs a pain to install, especially as the inside of the case is black. If youre not using the standoffs how are you getting your GFX card and any other cards to install correctly?

The other 3 pin card on your GFX card is most likely a SPDIF connection for the sound over HDMI

And post up some pics :)

I got the standoffs installed in the end. Used the little screwdriver tip thingy supplied in the bag. SHould have looked before i made the thread :D

Will get some pics up later, just struggling to arrange everything as the case is actually too big for my desk lol.
