Hi guys,

Hoping someone might be able to help.

Just hooked up my first ever rig... CPU fans etc everything working fine but getting no signal to the VGA screen once I turn the power on.

MB speaker makes two short beeps after powering up, beep...........beep. That's it, any ideas??

MB is an Asus P7H55-M/USB3 Intel H55 (Socket 1156) .... it's this one:

Just wondering what the 2 short beeps signify, can't seem to find an answer on the net?

Many thanks,

R

Specs of the pc would be a bonus.

are you using an additional gpu? or are you using a i3/i6 cpu in tandem with the H55 chipset output?

Apologies stulid...

Intel Core i3 540
RAM: Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB)
Asus GeForce GTX 460 1024MB DirectCU TOP GDDR5 PCI-Express

Do you have both 6pin connectors in the GTX460?

have you connected the motherboards addition 4/8pin power?

are you using the motherboards outlet to try and connect to the TV?

i did this, and it was the cause of the problem.

use the outlet of the graphics card to connect to the TV and hopefully it'll work

i am using the motherboard VGA outlet at the moment... haven't tried the GPU via the adapter. Ultimately I'll hook it up via the HDMI but haven't got my monitor yet so just using a VGA with an old monitor to set things going.

I also haven't tried removing the GPU and simply starting only with the motherboard, I'll give those a go in that order!

Will come back to let you know if that works...

Thanks for the suggestions

if you have a graphics card installed, you wont be able to get any output from the motherboards video outputs, so one of those things should solve your problem (it did for me when i was setting up my PC last week)

Genius....genius Reaper I tell thee!

VGA has recognised direct from the GPU... telling me to 'Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key...'

I've got Win 7 so will prob give that a go tomorrow night as it's getting a bit late now!

Thank you for helping, really appreciate it.
