Hi, all my parts arrived today in good condition.

One small problem

I didnt order a DVDR drive. is it 100% neccesary to have one as i do have an external one available right now

Im following the build guide posted by greywolf at the moment... shall i proceed without the drive?

im a about to fit the ram to the mobo. 2 x 4gig sticks. I am a bit confused as to whether they should be place in the blue or the white section
 
chose to put them in white :). have to push down quite hard but it kindly locks itself in to let you know its done
 
i was REALLY confused when i saw the i5 cooler i was just like eeeeehh.so far pace is slow but i want to be careful as its my first build
 
im having a lot of trouble attaching the fan to the cpu cooler these wire things are way too fiddly anytips?
 
im trying to find the right ports to plug my front panel headers into the mobo and am having some difficulty

the psu only has a 2x 4pin connector where thegraphics card needs 2 x 6pin. Is there meant to be an adaptor with the psu or the gpu?
 
pci-e cables go from 8 pin to 6 pin dangling off is another 6 pin and 2pin

edit: yes they have red ends
 
there are 2 8pin red connectors free on the psu - i have 2 identical forementioned cables.

i was thiniking i might have to use the second slot to power the front case fan
 
front case fan is 3 pin but there is no free 3 pin in reach of the wire.

is it possible to plug it into a 4 pin using a 3pin?
 
yes but there is no spare molex on the mobo as the only availabe one is taken by the back case fan
 
so that molex should have nothing in it ?


ill use molex adaptors on the dangling pci-e from the gpu and then plug the fans in that way?
