Well my first build has been nothing short of a pain in the buttocks.

Got my motherboard and processor from OcUK (Super quick delivery BTW Ty)and the rest from elsewhere, here's where the problems begin:D

Opened up the NZXT(which came from elsewhere;)) to have a quick look at it in the flesh, and I'm bloody glad i did, check this out.

There was no damage to the box whatsoever:confused:

It got picked up the next day by DPD and sent straight back.

So with a rage building inside me that even Dr David Banner would have been proud of i had completely missed the fact that OcUK had sent me the wrong Motherboard:(....It Should have been the Asus P8P67 PRO

So i called up and got an RMA number for the motherboard(and inquired about the lack of lost planet'age?) and was told i'd be getting a retail copy sent:confused: i thought it was just a voucher code but hey ho:p.

So i asked in the customer service section and sent a web note regarding RMA costs? Who foots the bill? and best return method but just had someone reply to my web note asking me what the problem was after explaining it 10 times already.

So guys, do i just get DPD to pick this motherboard up from my address and return it to OcUK? and Do i foot the delivery bill for returning it?

Thanks

As it was OCuk's mistake with the motherboard they legally should have to pay any return fees as you haven't received the item which you paid for.

Thats bad luck, dude.

I remember when I got my HAF 932 with the front of kicked in, (from else where not OCUK) was gutted. But you'll feel better when a new shiny unbroken one turns up.

As for the MB, dunno whats going on with OCUK at the mo must be mega busy few mistakes creeping in what with the MSI 580s fiasco.

Just hope you get it sorted asap.

you pay the delivery unfortunatly..

So i have to pay even though the mistake was on OcUK's part?

Why do i feel so robbed:D

I wonder if i would have even noticed that the motherboard was the wrong one if the case was fine and i had started building excitedly:D

as far as im aware, any faulty items you do, and they are not down to you either, so cant see why this would be any different.
its gutting when you are soooo excited and it doesnt go right, but in the end it will work itself out and you will have a nice new pc :) but i would keep on at OCuk until you know exactly whats going on before you book a courrier.

If you want to contact OCuk support via their normal (cheaper) landline number then try 01782 576672. I suspect one of the mods will soon say "take this to the customer service forum", however last time I did that my thread was ignored. I'm not having a dig at OCuk in general as they can provide very good service (quick dispatch times etc) however I've had mixed experiences with their RMA handling.

You should chase them to refund the RMA cost which I'm sure they would do as its a mistake on their part on yours. Hang onto all receipts and web note discussions etc for future reference just in case too. They've probably been swamped by the number of order as the moment so sometimes things are bound to go wayward once in a while. Unfortunate with the case too. Are the other company refunding the RMA delivery cost out curiosity?

The general opinion on various sites after a quick Google suggests the retailer is responsible for postage costs for incorrect items, but I haven't found that stated officially yet.

Personally I'd have zero respect for any retailer who expects the buyers to pay return postage for incorrect (or DoA) items. If I'd sent someone the wrong item on the MM (or the well known auction site) there's no way I'd expect them to pay the return postage.

Ok just had a reply via web note.....

Please return this to us via Royal Mail, we can re emburse you for any postage costs if it is sent as a standard parcel to us.

So a result it seems, looks like it will be a royal mail special next day, should i wrap the mobo box in something for protection? it only came in a bag(which i tore apart like a child who's desperate get to his sweeties:D

...............Looks at guitar box:D.................

That sound a bit too big! What about popping to the supermarket / local grocery store and getting food type of box from there. You get them in loads of shapes and sizes. Saturday mornings are pretty good, larger supermarkets/stores would have restocked overnight for the rush and plenty of them lying around!:p
