Regardless of what you may hear the AMD is, for the most part, a better processor but the Intel would give you much better upgrade options in the future.

Despite spending the best part of a day defending the 6100 I'd probably still go Intel on that budet though :p
 
Have you got an old monitor?

I ask because you could get the better CPU 2500k and put the money left aside and upgrade the monitor later, well thats what I would do. You still have not said what the pc will be used for?
 
I'd consider a 2500K, it has integrated graphics and is nearly the same price (out of stock atm though, OEM ones at least). Integrated graphics would be useful if you, say, had a graphics card problem - just gives you something to fall back on.
