Only thing i think need now is a mouse, can anyone recommend one that isn't to expensive?

Thanks in advance.

Whats the comp to be used for?

notied you dont have a mechanical hdd on there will you be using your old?

Also are you planning on doing some good overclocking? if not / modest overclock a good fan cpu heatsink will serve you well and save some pennies

Will be used for gaming and i have 2 HHD's from my old computer that i can use.

I am also thinking of trying overclocking at some point and get a 2nd graphics card at a later date to.

case is a tad overkill but if its what you want then swap it out

then add water cooler if you feel the need. that cpu cooler should take you to a nice OC of around 4.5 ghz i would think safely.

Thanks for the advice, will make some changes i think now.

I wouldnt thank him too soon. His mobo choice doesn't do Xfire or SLI properly I think you will find, the MSI details are always sketchy. You want both PCI-E lanes running in sync (X8 & X8). I really doubt that cooler will fit in the shinobi too as it's 170mm tall.

1 x LiteOn IHAS124-04 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £15.98
Total : £984.89 (includes shipping : £12.50).

You could just stick with your original mobo but I've used the UD3H version. Either mobo does Xfire and SLI properly, this shinobi case comes with 2 fans, Dunns comes with one. The 612S cooler will just fit in the shinobi. I've used the MSI 670 but the windforce 670 is also very good but not clocked as high out of the box as my MSI choice. RAM is fast and at an excellent price too, you could use the kingston kit to save £10, I have that RAM it is very good especially at that price :)

To be quite honest your spec was very nice in the first place, I would have changed the PSU to the XFX silver rated above but the rest seemed really nice. I included a nice gaming mouse, the Ikari is nice too. You can use this link to compare GPUs to help you aswell

Are you going to xfire at some point in time?

I vote to keep the obsidian case, its a thing of great beauty.

I did say he did a good job first time round :)

* Kept the 650D
* Lost the H100 but the air cooler will be just as good if not better and quieter under heavy load. I appreciate the OP could be styling with it though.
* Kept the fast RAM you could drop to 1600mhz but the deal on this RAM is very good
* 670 is really the best GPU to aim for. It's a 680 with very little trimmed off. This edition is already overclocked as well with CUDA & PhysX support and a 3 year warranty vs the HIS 7950s 2 years

Hope this helps, I know it's a little over. He still wanted a mouse which I included so it tallies up at about £16 OB. I look forward to seeing what the OP settles on :D

P.S I own that Liteon optical drive. It was cheaper than the OPs option while still being X24, it can be flashed with the iHAS-524 firmware to unlock features (google it if interested)

That build looks good.

I own the shinboi case and currently have a cpu heatsink in that sits 160mm tall, theres defiantly room from an extra 10mm. i can't find anywhere the specific measurements shinobi case supports.

the g45 supports both xfire and sli at 8x/8x

You sure? MSI don't list it in the specs. Where does it say SLI and that the lanes are in sync?

It also lacks a nice shiny SLI certification on the overview section right where Crossfire is proudly displayed.

Surely that would be something to promote?

I'll also check manual when i get it. i know MSI seem to contradict themselves in certain places on this board, sometimes saying sli but stating n/a in specs list.

i had to do research on this before i bought it and im sure it came out as supporting sli. If it turns out no too i've made a booboo :D

99% sure it does though.

Also this is screenshot from a competitiors website > This does not show anything that would give away which competitor it is from so should be fine

Just to be sure im going to email MSI. so many people saying one thing and then another.
