first car cheap to insure and buy recommendations

Hi there im a 23 student living in a terraced street and have nearly 2 years driving experience.

I have been insured under my dads insurance on his car for about 18months now

please give me some advice about what to buy, and anything which is cheap and fun

sorry forgot to mention tops £2000 car £1000 insurance

i dnt mind if its 3rd party only insurance as long as the car isnt more that 900£

206 Y reg 1.9diesel AC

yaris 01 reg 1.3vvt-i SR

both around the 2k mark and group 4-5

Right here's an important question, has anyone here owned or owns the first shape lexis IS200? My friend said that it may be a bad idea me getting a rear wheel drive car so soon but he did can his S14 so guess he's a recovering from it.

And when buying this car are there an things I should definetley be looking for which may cost me a fortune to fix if the car hasn't been looked after properly?

im sure i will be fine the student loan will help me maintain it and i dnt relly drive like a maniac, a faous quote i use now my talent ends before the cars does so how could i get anywhere near to limit

quick update guys, lexus when out the window currently in mid stages in getting a DC2

will post pics if the deal goes through smoothly
