First Car Help

I had the 1.3 Endura engine. Painfully slow, painfully noisey when the tappets hadn't been adjusted. But i tell you what - that engine was bullet proof, probably because it was designed by men old enough to have fought in WW1.

no that's right R-Plate.If it was RJ01 (e.g. two letters then two numbers) then it would be an 01 (2001) car. My cars X701, meaning it's an X-Plate (2000) and not a 2001 (because it's 701, not just 01.) Hope that makes sense :p.

Can't find it on RAC's vehicle check site as R801 2UX or R801 ZUX or R801 SUX, so I don't know.

They didn't do an '01' plate, they went X, Y, 51

non what so ever mate lol ! Thanks anyway.

My brother just phoned me, he went to have a look, its TUX not 2UX :rolleyes: Silly me, all ok now!

He said its got a new big exhaust, i didnt even look i dont care really :eek: Front fog lights etc, in very good nic.

Its a Ford Fiesta 1.25 Chicane 3door :) New sound system to i think, also throwing in a nice new cd player!

Looking forward to driving it home tomorrow :)

Just a little question, when we first moved the car off, it sounded "off" dont ask me to try explain what it sounded like cos i cant put it into words. My dad said he doesnt like the sound of that. Anyway, it kinda just went and sounded normal after that. Dad just said it's because the car hadn't been used for just over a week.

Is this normal :eek: Just really worrying me. Its not long passed the MOT. My brother said he will come with me and drive it and said if i wanted he will bring his mate who is a mechanic to check it over for me.
 
The big boy exhaust won't help the sound of the little 1250 engine. If it's been sat for a while and not started, it may sound a little rough at initial turnover but I wouldn't worrry too much tbh. Could be anything really, my Mazda Xedos 6 had noisy tappets at start up. Funny noises are par for the course with cheap cars tbh

Cheers for the reply. Yea just think im worrying over nothing really. They did tell me they had no problems with it what so ever and let me know it hadnt been started for over a week.

As for the exhaust, i didn't even bother to look at it. I'm not into all thay "boy racer" style. My brother on the otherhand is. Makes no difference to me, as long as it works:)
 
Picked up the car today, been driving it about. Very nice.

There is a bumping grinding sound tho that my brother noticed, its pretty audiable, he said it sounds like the arcs.

Is this majour :eek: Bankrupt atm, cant afford much!

I have no idea LOL. Anyway hes gonna phone his mate to service it for me later.

All i know is its got 4 wheels :p

Has it had a frontal impact? The bonnet looks to be sitting too high above the lights.
