Hi guys and galls,
I recently decided to build myself a solid gaming rig but I am a little under-educated in terms of tech talk and the such. My buddy turned me onto this site quoting ''these guys really know their stuff''.

I have been using a Dell XPs 1530 laptop for the past few years and it finally died after countless hours of use. May it R.i.p.

Decided I would get serious about gaming and get a tower!
Since I have never built a P.C I reckon I will leave that to the professionals, but since I am spending so much money I do worry about getting value and performance for myself when picking components.

I have a £1000 budget (a little over is o.k~£100 or so) for the computer alone with an O.s!(I have a 28" 1080p Panasonic T.v so I think i will just HDMI up to that for a picture&sound)

I want to be able to play high end games well, and continue to do so into the future as best as can be done with my budget.

Did a good bit of research but in all reality, with my limited knowledge I am grasping at straws.

This is what I'm thinking so far,

Any way to improve it in your wise opinions??
Do I need the cooling system if I am going to be O.C'ing my CPU?
I need a disk drive too.

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO RIP THIS APART OR DESIGN YOUR OWN FOR MY £1100 BUDGET
Thank you very much for any interest guys! I am a good guy, so please help me out!

I'm new to this too, but I will say that I said I was going to get that Vengeance ram in another thread and had loads of replies telling me to get the Samsung Green ram as it was better, cheaper and overclocks well.

You're ram could cause future problems with space for a CPU cooler apparently.

Yeah it's not the prettiest stuff, but I couldn't ignore all the recommendations.

went for 3tb hard drive, smaller psu as bigger not needed unless you want to crossfire in the future, retail cpu not oem as 3 years warranty not 1 year with oem, different cpu cooler, for it's better and makes less noise in the range, and a different video card, same power and memory size just different make.

sometimes i go for cheaper to try and beat a budget set, then sometimes i go for better parts but still try to keep under budget by swapping and changing a few parts, no low end of B grade parts used, no drop in power or performance either.

Thanks for the advice guys! Is crossfire hooking up two CPU's to improve performance? I went for a higher wattage PSU because in the future I may want to connect two graphics cards to keep up with the newest games. I also saw somewhere that the higher ones are just safer for your computer, as I will be playing it a lot and I want to take every precaution in extending the life of my new beauty!

If I wanted to use a 5.1 surround sound system eventually, would I have to get a better sound card than the stock basic?

Also, for £30 extra I could get 16 Gb RAM instead of 8gb, I have heard a lot of people say I won't need it, but for 30 quid extra I reckon it may be worth it.

My biggest problem is deciding on a graphics card really! Pretty set on the i5-3570k, I have always been a NVIDIA fan, and I heard they are more compatable for drivers on intel, but AMD seems to be the solid choice for a a lot of builds you guys do. SO i may just take good advice when given it!

Crossfire is hooking up two graphics cards, not cpu's :)
I would say that the 16Gb of Ram isn't really worth it atm as 8Gb makes everything just fly anyway!
I would also advise grabbing a basic Xonar sound card if you like your audio. Various review sites (which I won't mention, but Google is your friend!) have done blind tests and even the £10 card far exceeds onboard in most cases.
