First Date

TBH, bugger going out. Going out means you share wherever you are with other people, have to queue for things, and generally have to put up with other people's ideas of a good time. I got mine round for dinner, i collected her from her house, i cooked dinner, made sure my house was looking good, had a massive selection of films and tv available, along with a large minibar. We just chatted, had a film, a quick walk around the local lanes, chatted again etc.

We had a nice evening, seemed to work rather well :p

A lot of people who have done this (where the date didn't go to well for whatever reason) have said they felt very awkward for a few hours not really knowing what to do.

I would never invite someone to my place as a first date. God know what kind of person she is or if you would really hit it off.

To be honest when I was in the dating game years ago now – hmmm doesn’t feel that long ago but it was. Anyhow, I tried many first date ideas…

Cinema was a poor idea. You couldn’t talk, and you just ended up going to the pub or somewhere to talk afterwards.

Pub seemed a good idea but it got boring, real quick if the person you was with was either boring themselves, conversation didn’t flow well or you simply knew it wasn't heading anywhere.

Evening meal was even worse. Once you’d ordered your food, if you felt it was going nowhere you ended up eating for the sake of it and it was uncomfortable. Any, if your nervous already, eating a meal isn’t going to help you much…

Meeting for a coffee at a coffee shop was actually a good idea, it was informal enough and you just got a coffee or tea and chatted and if after an hour it showed no promise just say thanks for the coffee etc and leave… Likewise for her.

Although, the best first date I found was to organise a lakeside walk or country walk along a popular route, and there are many in and around towns and cities or even just around a canal which ends up at a pub….. If after the walk, as walking and talking outside in the fresh air is so relaxing if it seemed to be going somewhere invite them for a drink at the pub… shows interest, and if not interested, either of you, then say thanks for the walk and leave…

As for the comments about her being a fat minger. Hmmmm not all girls that don’t fancy a walk are fat.!! Actually, I did take a rather curvy lass for a walk once, and she was very active…. And, my gf gained a lot of weight due to medication and loves to be active and loves walking, and had to walk carrying an additional few atone for ages till it finally dropped off her… Oh and its well known, fat girls with cute faces when they get a new boyfriend, get more active (*wink*) and actually lose weight…. Lol Remember, sex burns calories..!! lol

take her to a nice bar to have a few drinks.

if you are drinking, before you go pour yourself a small glass of cream and down it. that way you will get all nice and tipsy without getting drunk

go karting, if theres one near you. good fun and have a laugh, not only that you get to hit her from behind on the first date!

personally i find anything with animals good, Chester zoo and Vancouver Aquarium were the 2 best first dates i ever had.

Vaguely funny story in that I tried meeting someone I met online for the first time last night. I signed up because one of my good friends from uni had told me to and that lots of her friends were doing it. So yes you can see where this is going turns out the girl I ended up meeting was actually a friend of hers. Small city. Seeing her again Sunday :)

Oh and I suggested a bar to meet for drinks. She responded 'oh yeah that's good, or how about (name of 5* hotel), that's nice too. You decide' So yeah she has expensive taste but she's nice. Went well, so we got a snack from the bar menu.

This is where I'm going wrong...I have no minibar. That and I can't cook.

12 pack condoms: £10
1L lube: £5

That leaves you £5 to put towards her taxi home at the end of the night.
