First Driving test tomorrow

Okay so after around 6 months of lessons (1hr per week) I've finally put in for my test. It's around 11am tomorrow morning so I'll be having an early night :p All in all it cost around £75 for a Saturday test and £40 for my instructors time (1hr lesson before the test and paying for his time for the duration of the test) that's a hefty £115.

Anyone got any tips to cure the nerves for tomorrow? Or care to share your own experiences? I'm feeling confident but I'm sure I'll be pretty damn nervous tomorrow.

Annoying thing is that my instructor is packing in driving tuition and his license runs out tomorrow, and he's selling his car the day after (fiat 500) so If I don't pass this time, I'm gonna have to go to another instructor and get comfortable with their car before even putting in for another test. Which is more time/money.

'First' test? Surely just your test, you don't need another if you pass ;)

If you make a mistake just keep calm and carry on. You never know, you might get a minor or it be missed. I didn't check my mirrors leaving the test centre but passed first time :)

Haha thanks for the advice.

I only say this as I know several of my friends have took 4+ times to pass

hope the examiner is some obese middle aged spread who likes young meat a'la inbetweeners style and then you have got it made :P

Watch out for the shaking foot on the pedal!

Just take some Valium before it and you should pass without a problem.

Just remember to go at a sensible pace :p

That and remember to give way right at roundabouts, even mini ones (which can be a pain)

Just don't get bogged down if you think you made a mistake - as you'll lose focus and could make more!!

I passed first time - and I stalled the car as soon as I started and went to pull away - I just carried on and kept focussed... turns out that was my only minor!!!

/edit

Also - keep checking your mirrors - and make it REALLY obvious with head movements etc... I have good peripheral(sp?) vision so don't need to move head much, but made a real point of it on my test, vary wary of speed also

tbh i passed mine about 6 months ago, had 3 attempts due to nerves, on the 3rd attempt i thought id failed after about 5 mins, ended up just gettin on with it, and passed!

I'll be having mine next month if all goes to plan financially.

Just stay calm and don't rush things at all. Leave yourself plenty of time to react, and perform at a leisurely (but not sluggish) pace.

Also, remember to visibly turn your head when doing maneuvers. You might be looking perfectly fine with just eye movement, but I find my instructor has a go at me if I haven't -- what I would deem as "theatrically" -- moved my head.

Aup!
Good luck with the test dude, sure you'll do fine. As others have said, check your mirrors and make it obvious that you are. Also make sure they can see you checking left and right at junctions.
Other than that, your instructor obviously knows you can drive to test standard, so just drive like you did in your lessons and you should be golden.

Relax and take your test. Don't stress about it. If you think you messed up, just carry on as usual.

I passed 1st time around. Make sure you move your head when looking at the mirrors, it does help.
