I'm looking for a dslr that is good for a learner. its for taking pics of karting when I'm not in the seat so I'm Thinking of mabe a diffrent lense? so it must be daily quick.

my budget is 400-500ish I can move if its worth the extra plus what the lense costs and it must be easy to use

any help will be apeciated

its a good time to buy dslr,s at the mo with many offers like cash back and no vat etc. To help in choosing which one depends on what you need from the camera and how it feels in your hand so it a good idea to go to the high street and try out. You may want to consider if shooting video as well as stills is important, also the range of lenses available differs between the manufacturers. Theres a good deal on the bay with the cannon 450d inc 18-55 IS lens new with 12mths warranty for 360 which would be a good choice as a first dslr if you dont need video

i have never tried to shoot video with a dslr. As I understand it most dslr cameras require manual focus whilst in video mode which may be tricky if starting out. However sony has just released the Alpha SLT-A33 which uses a translucent mirror setup enabling full auto focus whilst shooting video. It also has a guide mode which should help in understandin the camera. Not sure on lens choice though but it may be worth looking into.
