I did like someones comment on here a while back, something like "you have more fun building than actually using"

Will see if that comes true :D

Dan will do pics, will be slowish build due to first time and having a family to take care of :D a 2 year old is hard work.

will put the 10 pin in the the slot above the 18 pin then.

Cost was around £1500.

So far so good, the cpu wasn't fun. Felt like I was gonna crush the damn thing.

Was a bitch getting the 2 x 4pin into the 8pin on the mobo, access isn't the best but I got there in the end.

Never applied thermal paste before so I just did the blob in the middle and just hope that works out ok. Is it ok that I moved the cooler a bit as I had a bit of hassle with the main bracket, It never left the surface of the cpu.

Back to it tomorrow night.

another few hours tonight, I fired her up tonight also with just the basics and I assume that been able to view the bios and it prompting me for media is a good sign, temps within bios showed 28 / 29.

Save the worst till last me thinks, no idea if thats what most people do but if not then ops :D

Last shot before I called it a night.

I would build it quicker if I could, won't start tonight till probably 9pm or around that. But it does give me something else to look foward to after everyone in the house has gone to sleep :)

And I still probably won't complete it tonight.

meh didnt get much done last night, the rear fan seems to make an anoying hum, its currently connected to the y splitter. Might add it to the fan controller and see if it reduces the hum.

Unless anyone else knows why it would hum ?

One other thing I noticed was the 2 x 460's look so tight together, like the metal from the fan could easy touch the back of the board on the other.

Posting this from new pc, :D so far so good. Fingers crossed it's stable

lastest shot, will have a final shot early this week.

I have to say I have enjoyed this a lot, now I just wanna build more.

Not bad for my first attempt at building one.

can anyone comment on these details as in are the temps ok etc ?, taken screenshot just now and the pc has been running for probably 2 hours now. I haven't touched anything regarding overclocking yet.

Volts are hovering around 1.14 / 1.17 at 3.2ghz temps 58 / 62 Nothing changed in bios yet.

The paste I used was the PK1 and I just basically put a blob in the middle, bigger than a grain of rice but smaller than a pea.

Final shots of my first ever build, anyone else out there that is thinking of building one for there first time it's damn good fun :D unless nothing goes wrong of course.

just a case of installing some games to see if it works ok now :D

lol the only ugly part about the keyboard is those things, volume and the light control on the keyboard which is red :D

the top 140mm fans are just normal black ones, I'm gonna replace the top 2 plus front for noctua's.

the red light at the botton is Lian Li 53cm LED Band.
