First ever case build project

The 'death star' for a proj name suggestion :) I hate, yes hate the original front side so my thought on that if it were me would be to get a piece of black perspex ordered to required size with necessary holes cut out.

Oops I didnt realise this was such an old thread.

It is old but hopefully now I can get cracking and make some progress. I even ordered my monitor from here (oc's) for delivery today so hopefully with that sat there it will be the incentive I need.

Everything looks better when you stick a load of lights in it.

I wasnt planning on any lights to be honest. Thought less is more maybe in this build. Will have a think

Top panel of case with I/O strip removed. Not keen on these as they are uncovered and look like they will fill with dust etc in no time at all.

All masked up and ready for the cuts that should hold the 120.3 rad and fans. Think a carbon roof may be on the cards.

Fans all finished off in high white gloss. Hoping I will get the contrast I was looking for between the matt black and gloss white

Good stuff, am watching all the updates, it's not dissimilar to a cream tower I have of my own, a Supermicro SC750A.

Cheers. Just uploading the photos I have up to now. Playing a bit of catch up really as not done a lot for such a long time but now gonna concentrate on it.

Looking at it in that picture, it appears a little squint, however have just been out to the workshop and the measurements all round are exact. Strange :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Would it have not been easier to just remove the fan rather than masking them? Would have saved you a lot of time and tape. :D

Wish I could have mate, but the fans I am using do not allow you to remove the blades form the bearing. Belive me, I tried, twice and ruined two fans  It was very tedious I will admit. Not near as bad as trying to remove all the tape once the paint had dried though :mad::mad:

Ah bummer, i'm looking at painting a couple of my fans, luckily I can just remove them. Did you do the whole primer etc with them to? Due to them being plastic I was thinking of just grabbing some Plastikote.
