First gaming rig.

1 x Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB SATA 6Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM (ST2000DL003) £69.98

Oops my bad on specing the low RPM drive - Someone spec him a decent mechanical - I'm not clued up on them any more :D

Samsung F3 1TB mechanical HDD that he had in the build is solid enough, does the OP need 2TB storage? Would be fine to add in an 60GB+ SSD later, would involve an OS reinstall though (to install it on the new SSD to gain boot time benefits).

Edit* Stulid beat me to it :p

Another option there, may have spent a little too much on the power supply but it is a very very important component. This also includes a 64 GB SSD to use as a boot drive plus some games for faster response times:)

what would be your opinion on taking an hdd for now and upgrading to an SSD in say... 6 months?

Don't worry about the SSD mate. If it's not within budget then hold fire, thats my motto. I ordered my parts this week and despite wanting a SSD for Windows, its a luxury I couldn't afford right now. The beauty of pcs is their modular nature, just add it later when more affordable :)

My first spec :D Moving on:

Or ATI Radeon if you are open to that option... takes you over your max budget but could save on PSU and case again, again the PSU would cover Crossfire as a future option, threw in an SSD also, heard of reliability issues with the OCZ Agility drives so anyone feel free to correct me or recommend a better SSD or leave it out and add it later if you prefer.

Don't forget that gigabyte GTX560ti, it has higher clock speeds than the msi card and is cheaper.

Stulid recommended it earlier or the Crosair A50. Post #9 :D

Talking about cool, I'm still sticking with the FT02 theme not happy with the vertex...

+1, I was going on great reviews I'd heard about the Twin FrozRs noise levels but having a read the Gigabyte seems to match it in that department so no reason not to go for it.
