Hi all,

I'm looking to upgrade my gpu, specs are:

Intel Core i7 950 @ stock
Asus sabertooth x58
Gskill ripjawz 12GB 1600mhz (3x4gb)
XFX HD 5870 1GB
1x Blu Ray/DVD RW drive
1TB HDD
Cooler Master CM 690 II advanced case
6x Case fans
Corsair TX650 Watt 80+ Certified PSU
Samsung SyncMaster 1920x1080 60Hz

Whats the best gpu i can get for a budget of £250?
 
Will be fine, the TX 650 sports a hefty 52A Single 12v rail. Though if you were aiming to push the GPU and CPU to their extremes, i would imagine the current protection might kick in, but at reasonable overclocks you will be fine. A cool running card will keep its power usage lower than a much hotter card of the same clock, so would keep that in mind when buying a 290. The after market cooler will be the difference between being able to overclock or not.
