First Job Interview (w00t)

'if its a proper interview in an office'

i'm able to comment on that one, having been for an interview at b&q, and my interview (which they conveniently forgot about!) was held with the section manager (and i dont mean suit type manager, i mean he looked like he was 'working on a building site' type manager!) in one of the display conservatories that they had erected between the main store and the gardening bit with all the plants in it.

i wasn't that impressed, i needed the money but i didnt take the job! found something better! i guess some of the other stores might be a bit better?

As thread title, I recently handed in a few applications to a couple of shops and I'v just got a phone call form B&Q for an interview with them for Friday at 5:00pm.

This is my first job interview and I really dont know what to expect :o

I had an interview for b&q years and years ago, in fact it was my first interview too. I didn't get it! I was very down that day as my mother was taken into hospital and they asked quite hard questions actually. IIRC they asked me questions about their ordering service or something. Might be worth looking at their website.

I'm in a similar position - I work at Focus DIY. (rival!!!!1 :p )

The job isn't actually too bad. We have a laugh most of the time :D

(incidentally, I was stacking paint all day yesterday . . . only good thing about paint is the cool Dulux Paint Mixer that you get to use)

Interview was easy wont worry about it, i take it you will be a the front end (tills) as they don't put under 18's on the floor. It's a very manual job be prepared for aching muscles and very dirty hands.
Just be positive and upbeat during the interview they like that. In fact the only bad thing is the uniform:p

I got the job, but I never got to start it :(

I was Ill throughout the period and I needed to put college at prioroty. I might apply again seen as I'm a jobless.
