The old plates in the black surround were soooooo 1995....

So I got some shiny new ones and ditched that black surround...

Much better :)
Next up, clear side repeaters!

I did it with my Golf too, having the GB bit on the side subliminally makes you think it's newer than it is I suppose. Obviously not if you know about the car, but to Joe Bloggs it may.

nout wrong with the amber repeaters, what you really need is a set of good wheels.

Possibly, but I've not found any that I like the look of yet. Plus the fact that the tyres are virtually brand new, they will be staying on the car until the tyres need replacing at least.

The amber repeaters suck on a red car...

They look fine. Absolutely everyone changes them to clear, half of the time they look naff.

Can I be controversial and say it may look better with the black surround back on?

They don't look too bad really. On my car changing the front and side repeaters to clear made a massive improvement IMO.

The amber repeaters will be swapped out for clear ones to match the clear side lights.

is that a turboooo version? what power is it running at? (new numberplate looks much nicer)

A smidge over 400bhp at the fly*

*I may possibly be lying and it may possibly be a 174bhp N/A GT-Tbar...

I like the new plate but I must admit I prefer the look of it on the surround. (although the look may be affected by the different angles of the two pictures)

Yeah, it does look much cleaner and subtle in the metal (plastic?) though.
The black surround stuck out from the front of the car so looking at the nose in profile it was odd. Now the plate just curves around nicely and doesn't mess with the lines of the front.

Thats true. I bet it looks better in the flesh.

I must admit I walked past a Red MR2 yesterday (identical to yours in terms of looks but single exhaust and no badges so unsure which model?) and because it had been well looked after it still looked modern and fresh which given its age is no bad thing.

:)

its a plate, cant beleive you changed the plate "cos it looked 1995".

whats the most modern up to date style of number plate then?
