First model related rant!

So 2 weeks ago I did a TFP (time for prints) (basically a free shoot) for someone I know, because we felt like it. At the time I speicifically said I've got loads on and will do them as and when...

Which is exactly what I have been doing I'm roughly half way through them.

Today I get a text

Her: Jake I need those photos tomorrow mate, I've got shoots all week and need to take a portfolio with me!

Now, this has really ****ed me off to be honest. I left this morning for work at 8am, have literally just got in, I've had it, I'm not about to sit here, process about 50 images, burn them to a disk, and then go out again and take them to her place about 20 mins away when I have to be up early again for work.

So in my opinion tough **** - if you wanted them done urgently, you should have paid me. Secondly, booking a load of shoots with no portfolio is pretty ******* stupid.

She should have told you earlier...

...But, she's done her end of the bargain, hanging around for two weeks and not providing prints isn't really on is it? Can't you just send a few that are processed?

It works both ways, I could've put more effort into finding time for doing them but at the same time I really am working round the clock right now, so she shouldn't have booked shoots without a bloody portfolio.

I guess it's a lesson learnt though. Recently I did a free shoot for some girlfriends (friends that happen to be girls), I editted, provided full res images, etc. and got nothing but constant messages from them all asking for various other bits and bobs, and the usual "Can we just see every photo"? NO, you can't see every bloody photo!

They think you're good enough to ask you to help them out, but not quite enough trust there to think you have the ability to pick the best of the bunch to show them.

Sorry, slightly OT rant there.

Yeah I appreciate that. TBH I don't really see what the problem is, if you've got half of them done just send them over and chill out with a beer this evening

2 weeks you should be about ready to deliever something. If she hasn't mentioned anything prior or until now then its her own problem.

Re op - this is something that happens from time to time, I avoid TFP now if I can unless it's for somebody I've asked off the street etc, even if you're busy and think you've made that quite clear 2 weeks does seem a little long for no prints - I've done it myself, don't want the grief again and potential loss of reputation.

Na, I'm not a fan of sites like that unless I'm offering proper paid work. So many "ZOMG PICK ME COS I HAVE BIG BEWBS INNIT" - Urgh, annoying.

Na, was Roxy, I got up early (despite being ill and feeling like cack right now) and did them for her and dropped them off today and she txt me later saying 'you havent edited them properly' I happily txt back saying 'next time I'll model then, nevermind!' - CANNOT stand ungrateful people
