First New Build In Three Years!

I haven't built myself a new computer for just over three years now.

I'm currently running an Athlon 64 3200 (socket 754) with 1GB RAM and feel it is time to upgrade now i have enough money!

I've always been a fan of AMD, but after reading reviews of the Core 2 Duo, I knew I would be better getting one of these rather than an AMD AM2 chip.

So, after trolling these forums for a few days, I've whipped a few items into my basket; all as follows:

Welcome to the forums, I'd make two suggestions but other than that it looks fine. I'd probably get an aftermarket cooler for the CPU, particularly if you are thinking about overclocking, depending on the budget the Arctic Freezer 7, the Tuniq Tower and the Scythe Ninja are all worth a look. I'd also change the PSU to a Corsair 520w instead of the Hiper, it costs about the same but it is a better PSU I believe.

definatly change to a corsair PSU, hipers are known to blow up lol.

I've not had any experience with the Hiper PSU but every PSU has a chance of blowing. About a week ago my Tagen Blew and they are meant to be very reliable...

looks good but i second the psu thing there has been a good handfull of posts since xmas involving hyper 580's burning out

I have updated my basket a little.
