Upgrading from my X1800XT to this:

Not a bad looking card for £160 - Sapphire Vapor-X 4870 1GB.

Is it worth overclocking, or is minimum frame increase not worth it for heat output?

See how well you find it in games first, I'd say. Personally I've not really felt the need to OC my 4870 1GB, this is me running at 1680x1050, as most (read: everything except Crysis) games will run smoothly above 60FPS at whatever settings I feel are appropriate (i.e. making it 'go up to 11' with 4xAA).

Nice. I've got a 1900xt still which I'm hopefully going to upgrade to a 4850/70 soon. Probably when arma2 and opf2 are released
