Not where I'd like to be
Hello

I am going to start buying the bits for a new build and I am going to order the case and PSU this week.

I have a couple of questions.

1. As this will be my first order with OCUK can anyone tell me if there will be a delaying sending out due to security checks etc? I ask as I plan on ordering on thursday for Friday delivery, as I'm off work this Friday, but if it was to take a little longer I could order earlier.

2. I have only had DPD deliver once to me, a few weeks ago, and a nice little feature was they text me saying an hours delivery window and I could text them back changing the delivery date if I wished. Is this standard with DPD and included with OCUK orders?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

While I don't know the exact "cut-off time" for orders to arrive the next day, but from my experience of placing order with OcUK, order that I placed after 4pm didn't get processed until the next day, where as an order that I placed around 2pm, I received email to confirm "items has been dispatch" around 4pm and arrived the next day no problem...so I would say if you want your order to arrive the next day, it'd be best to order before noon to allow the staff plenty of time to process and dispatch the order.

I would've thought that the only delay would be if any of the parts you ordered would be out of stock & OCUK would delay the dispatch until such a time an out of stock part would come back in. If you are ordering by credit card that would be down to the credit card company's security checks. If you are planning on using OCUK's buy now pay later finance, read this.

If you place your order Wednesday evening then OCUK will have all day Thursday to send it out for Friday delivery.

I'd order Wed night to be safe, that way they have all day Thu to sort order

Beaten to it :(

regards to part 2 of your question, I have never has a text to comfirm delivery date/time, but if you use the tracking number that OCUK give you in your invoice, this gives a estimated time of delivery within an hour window. It has always been acurate for me and is normally to the earlier end of the window.
