In a bit of a pickle. My guides and stuff are going on about using some thing to ground myself with, any ideas? also if anyone has a comprehensive guide that would be helpful

I'd not worry too much if your building on the floor / carpet, just give your self a touch on the nearest tap / radiator on bare metal to discharge any static.

TBH I have never used an anti static strap in 5 builds now and never had any issues with frying components.

Just handle everything not by contacts and refrain from touching any exposed pins / connections and your be fine, this is normal practice to handle pc parts like this.

If you wan't a strap they are real cheap anyway, however if your building on a kitchen top your be fine.

PS don't wear a shell suit or jumper while building

Newegg youtube have some very intensive "How to build a pc" guides.

Hi Almighty, yes this is a great idea, there is no point in having cables that you will not be using, it just takes up room and makes it harder to get neat cable management, although the Nzxt H440 is great and easy for cable management, but myself and probably everyone on here would still remove the unnecessary cables.

as this is your first build, I will point out removing unwanted cables will not affect any power delivery from your PSU so you will be fine!

and Finally, if your having trouble with anything resulting in "raging" you can ask anyone on here and they will be happy to help. and GOOD LUCK and I look forward to seeing it finished you have a great setup!

*on a additional note* try to resize your photos to 800x600 resolution or put them in a spoiler tag as users / mods don't like giant photos :)

i test my components on the mobo box, then if all is good, then put it into the case and tidy it up

then power it up and install windows :)

Yeah i didn't think about this until i installed my Mobo and started plugging it all in. Now i am at the stage of trying to figure out everything and where i can put all the cables to make it look pretty. i will get some pictures in a bit to show where i am at currently.

so just a major kerfuffle with cabling trying to make it pretty and the positioning of my ssd's and hhd along with installing the H100i

Need some major help I found a small, under 10mm 2pronged forklike item lying on the table and have no idea where it came from. i have checked all connections and cannot find anywhere it would come from.

Just done a test to see if the rig will actually turn on with what was in and it was a success, however i couldn't get the onboard display to work, so i need to find some cables to test my gpu
